How to Shop a Groceries like a Pro

Quarantine season has extended and I'm getting bored because I can't help myself be productive. I decided to write a blog wherein every teen who started to live alone can learn from this. Actually, this was my experience for the 4 years living away from my family. Yes, I can't say I'm living alone because I lived in a dormitory, so technically I have my dorm mates yet I am on my own.

I do on my own from budgeting, doing the chores, cooking, and even shopping for groceries. That's why today I will share with you how to shop groceries like a pro, wherein you will not be running out of food and can save enough time and effort.  So this is how to shop groceries  like a pro:

Preparation

  • First, before going into a grocery store, I will check first my pantry, (usually my pantry was a storage box since I'm living in a dorm) if I have enough stocks or what stocks do I need to shop. Once done, I will make a list so that I can't spend more time thinking of what to buy when I'm already at the store.
  • The next thing is that I make a meal plan for the week so that I will not ponder what to cook or eat on that day. This way, it helps me to buy only the needed ingredients for the week.
  • Once checking and planning is done, I will arrange the list by a group like; Fruits and Vegetables, Dairy, Rice/Pasta, Snacks, Condiments, Meats and etc. I'm categorizing them thus I will not do a back and forth.
  • I separate the list that I'm going to buy in the supermarket and wet market, to avoid confusion.

Execution

Preparation is done and the next thing to do is to plan when is the best time to shop groceries. Usually, I shop for my groceries every Saturday morning or evening, so that I can plan the week. So, the list I will mention need to consider when buying your groceries:

  • Of course, when you shop for groceries make sure you are full so that you can't splurge money on other things because when you're hungry everything looks good. You will even forget that you are saving money and already allotted a budget for groceries.
  • Don't just pick what you see first, comparing the price will help you save money.
  • When you can't tell the difference between the item, only buy the generic brands and not buying the national brand.
  • For meat, fish, and even vegetable, you can save money when you buy it from the wet market and you can guarantee that the meats, fishes, and vegetables you buy are fresh.
  • Always bring with you your own bags or tote bags for groceries, bringing your own eco-bag is good for the environment. You help save the planet earth buy not using plastic.

I think doing my grocery shopping for years helps me to become a Pro, not that Pro but I can say at my age I know what to do in doing the grocery. I can even save money doing all the things I mention above. We have different kinds of shopping groceries, comment on your ways of shopping a grocery. So for the next blog, I'll be writing How to Budget My Bi-weekly Salary.

10 Things I learned in College

Few weeks from now I will be graduating and will be facing the real life. In my four years in college it wasn't easy for me because of being irregular student. Every semester I have 9 subjects to take to be able to graduate on time. If you're a regular student, you only have 7 subject to take. The pressure and academic requirement was double for me.  Thinking that in few weeks from now, all my parents effort and support emotionally, physically and financially will be paid off. Of course, my sleepless night, effort, pressure, stress, and anything I suffered in my college will be rewarded. Aside from the things I learned inside the four corner of the school, I also learned something valuable that has nothing to do with my grades. These things I learned is from my experiences. Here are the 10 things I learned in College: 1. How to be independent. This is the first thing I learned in college because I'm leaving in a dorm. I lived miles away from my family. I am t

HOW LIFE CHANGES AFTER COLLEGE

It’s been a year since I graduated from college and almost a year being employed. I remember when I was in college, I badly wanted to graduate and find work to enjoy life but as of this moment, all I want is to be back in college where I can joy my life as a student.  During college, the only thing that worried me was how can I pass every subject smoothly, how can I graduate on time, needing 8 hours of sleep, and to lessen the intake of caffeine. I sometimes worry about the financial situation but I have someone to rely on for that matter. As of this moment, I’m literally living independently. When I said independently, I’m no longer getting an allowance from my mom, I’m the one who pays for my accommodation and bills. Yup, you read it clearly, bills are one of the things that worries me. During college, even though I slept late because of doing some school work, waking up not so early is the one thing I missed when I was studying. It really doesn’t cost going to school because it'
